Easy Appliance Financing

Needed a new dryer. Used Katapult for Appliance Financing. Application was quick. Got approved fast. Dryer arrived in 5 days. Payments are manageable. Good experience.

Got my new TV

So I needed a new TV, and my credit card was, well, not gonna happen. My friend told me about Katapult, said it was pretty easy. I tried out their Television Lease to Own thing and it was actually pretty smooth. Didn't have to jump through a bunch of hoops or anything. Got the TV delivered to my apartment without any fuss. It's working great, watching all my shows now. Pretty happy with it, honestly.

Decent for electronics, slow delivery

I used Katapult for a new Gaming Console Lease. The application was easy enough, and I liked the flexible payment options since I needed something without a hard credit check. The console itself was exactly what I wanted. My one gripe is the delivery time; it took 7 days to reach me in Florida, which felt a bit long. Customer service was responsive when I inquired, but a faster shipping option would be a nice improvement. Overall, it was a practical way to get what I needed.

Hey, thinking about getting a new laptop through Katapult. Do they actually do a credit check? My score isn't the best right now.

S Sophie Y. 2 months ago
Nah, not a hard credit check like a credit card company. They look at other stuff, income and bank history I think. I got approved and my credit is pretty meh.

Yeah, I used them for a TV last year and they didn't ding my credit. It's more about your ability to pay regularly, not your score from what I gather.

Anyone know if Katapult has any active $1 initial payment codes right now? Trying to grab some furniture but that $45 upfront is a bit much.

I saw one floating around during Black Friday, but not sure about now. They do those during big sales like that and sometimes for new sign-ups. Keep an eye out though, they pop up.

Check their site around holidays or 'tax season', that's usually when I see those deep discounts on the initial payment. Not always a code, sometimes it's just automatic at checkout on partner sites.

How's the return process if I lease something and it just doesn't work out? Is it a huge hassle?

C Chris W. 2 months ago
It wasn't too bad for me. I leased a speaker that ended up being too small and the return was pretty smooth. Just followed their instructions on the portal.

Yeah, I had to return an appliance once. You gotta make sure you're within their window, and typically you're working with the retailer you got it from, but Katapult kinda oversees it. Don't remember any major headaches.

Is Katapult basically the same as Progressive Leasing or is there a big difference? Trying to decide which one to go with for a new mattress.

T Todd Lindqvist 1 month ago
They're pretty similar in concept, both lease-to-own. I've used both and found Katapult's approval process a bit quicker sometimes. Rates can vary, so it's worth checking both.

Not exactly the same, but similar models. Katapult sometimes has different partner stores too. I'd say just see which one gives you a better deal for the mattress you want. Don't think there's a huge operational difference.

Does Katapult actually report to credit bureaus? Wondering if this could help build up my credit score if I make all payments on time.

A Andre Silva 2 months ago
I don't think they do. From what I understand, it's not like a regular loan that shows up on your credit report. It's more of a lease.

Pretty sure they don't report positive payments, no. It's not a credit-building product in that sense. They only really care if you default, then that's a different story with collections, but good payments don't help your score.
